Hi everyone.
Spanish Beader is getting ready for the craft show season. Like most of us we have been working our little beading hands to make things to sell at our shows. I just got finished tagging all the new pieces and taking pictures of them.
Here are a few things that you need to have when doing shows outside. First get a good tent, one that has all four sides to it. Unfortunately we don’t control the weather. With all four sides you can protect your product, and provide customers with shelter as they continue to buy.
Second make sure you have weights to weigh down the tent, so when the wind starts to pick up, it won’t pick up your tent. You can use bags filled with sand, and tie it to each leg of the tent.
Thirdly, you need to bring all stationary items, pen, sissors, labels, calulator, bags, tissue paper, and safty pins. This way you will always be ready for anything.
The next items are very important, especially on hot days, it’s lots of water. Don’t be afraid to drink, you can always get your neigbhor to watch your tent if you have to go to the bathroom. I like to bring someone with me to my shows, that way I can go to the bath room and worry. It also good because then you can look around a bit.
Finally make sure your jewelry pieces have been cleaned or polished so they look nice and shinny. Jewelry tends to look dule after lugging it around from show to show. When you finish setting up your jewelry take pictures, so you can use it to submit to craft shows. I like to play with different ways to present my jewelry. This way I can feature one thing or another.

Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is well on this glorious day. I love this time of the year. Everything is blooming and looks so fresh and new. Today I am looking for a new color to work with, and I decided to work with purple.
Color plays an important role in our lives. It has the ability to influence our feelings and emotions. The first crucial decision of the day usually comes in the morning when deciding what to wear. Often times we will choose our clothes based on the color of the mood we are feeling or wish to protray that day. From there we choose what jewelry to wear with it.
I happen to love purple, any shade from light to dark. Purple color combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. Through out history purple has been associated with Royalty, nobility, and prestige. It symbolizes mystery, magic, power, and luxury. Purple is often used to protray rich powerful Kings, Leaders, Wizards, and Magicians. Purple combined with gold can be flashy and protray wealth and extravance.
Light purple and pink is good for a femine design and is a popluar color with teenage girls. Bright purple along with yellow is commonly used in promoting children’s products. It gives the apperance of something that is fun and easy to do.
So you see, there are many way to use purple. Now is the task of deciding what I want my customer to feel when they are wearing my jewelry. Check back next time to see if I made a decision!!!! Here are some pieces I already have in purple….

Well, we are finally moving along technically with magazines you can download onto your comupter. The question is which do you feel comfortable with. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. I like the real thing, the paper version of my favorite magazines.
I like to just pick it up and carry anywhere without having to lug around a computer and then waiting for it to loadup. On the other hand the storage is better if it is on your computer. I myself have stacks and stacks of books, and magazines on bookshelves. If all these books and magazines were downloaded to the computer then I could get rid of the two bookshelves in my studio.
When I working on a project I prop the magazine up in front of me. If I have to look at my computer, I have to keep turning to my right to see the next step. By the time I’m finished my neck is in spasm.
My son and his friends do everything on computers and cell phones. They can’t live without technology. I always keep an open mind to things. I guess I’ll give it another chance and order next months magazines online. what do you think about it. Leave your comments.
Here are some of my new projects:

Hi Everyone,

Hi Everyone,
I hope the new year is bringing you great joy and peace. I’ve been trying to get to blog but as the title says, I’m trying to do everything. My husband developed gout in his ankle. He is a funeral director. The past week I’ve been driving him around so he can still do his job. I sit around the funeral home thinking about all the other things I have to do. I finally said to him that I had to blog and get some beading done. So me and the stiffs began to bead.
I finally gone a necklace finished, and started a bracelet. The good weather is coming soon and I have to get my inventory ready to do shows. I love to read beading daily blog they always give me ideas for new jewelry creations.
Before You start to dive into beading
you have to have the right, or I should say enough seed beads to be able to create. My husband saw me taking and inventory of my seed beads and looking through my paper cataloge to order seed beads. He asked why do you have to have soooo many different color seed beads? My answer to him was It helps me to create.
When I’m starting a new piece I decide what I want to make ( necklace, bracelet, etc). Then I take out all the colors of seed beads in the hue I want to bead with. I look at the glass beads, bugle beads, pearls, etc.
Then I go through the process of elimination. What looks best for the design I have in mind. There is always a better hue for the job, so if you have choices then you get it right. I’m very systematic in my creations. Idea, design, color choice, and here we go!!!!
My last creation was done in purple/fushia colors. Look here at the picture of the necklace. I haven’t named it yet, maybe you can sent a suggestion. Well have to go, bead on ladies, see you next time.

Hi Everyone,
I’m back and back for good. This year is going to be the best year of my life. Many new and exciting things are happening as we write ! I have a friend, named Jasmin, that is trying to get the small business owners some advertising. She is putting together a show on TV in the Spring.
She has already interviewed me, and will have me in the studio in a few weeks. I am very excited. Jasmin is also very much involved with people who help in domestic violence. Jasmin has a serious heart for this. Coming from a back ground of domestic violence she is very serious about trying to help these women and their families. For this reason I am in the process of creating a signature piece of jewelry that will help get funds for these unfortunate people.
Jasmin and I have worked together about 3 years ago. She needed a person to teach quilting to ladies in the shelter. It was a very informative and inspirational time for me. These women had nothing, and yet they could sit and create beautiful quilts that shared what they were feeling. Jasmin and I will be doing something in the future. Look at some of the pictures from that program. I can only show those pictures that their hands, but you can see how they were creating these quilts.

Hi Spanishbeader here,
That time of the year has come again! Christmas is in 81 days, about 2 1/2 months!!!! OMG !!!! It also is time to get your friends, neighbors, family to think about buying jewelry for christmas presents.
I have decided to do Jewelry Shows. I’m going to play some games that will help me get some bookings, and make gift certificates to sell to my customers. The gift certificates can be redeemed online at my website. This is a great way to spread your name and your talent.
Here are some of the new pieces that I’ve done:

These are great gifts for the holiday. Help people to see great gifts to buy!!!!

Today is the first day of the rest of your life, or it is the first time for every new beading pattern! Either way I love new beading patterns. This month’s Bead & Button magazine has some beautiful jewelry pieces. I always wait for the new magazine. When it comes I sit down with a bag of potatoe chips and a can of soda, and read the magazine cover to cover.
October is my favorite month of the year. I love the different colors of orange and reds and browns. My jewelry will reflect those colors. Here are some of the peices that I’ve done for the fall season.

There are more pieces that I need to take pictures of. When I take the pictures I’ll post them here.
